LaGuardia Overhaul Hits Milestone

LaGuardia’s $8 billion upgrades were announced in July 2015 by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The redevelopment is to include: a new 35-gate terminal, upgrades to Terminal C and a Central Hall that will connect to Terminal C. Terminal B’s upgrades will include seven more gates and dual pedestrian bridges connecting the main part of the terminal to two additional island concourses. The first phase of the overhaul is complete, 11 gates in the new terminal B opened December 1. By 2019 Air Canada, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines will operate flights from the new concourse. The terminal will also house Air Canada’s Maple Leaf Lounge, and a United Club space to open in 2019.
