Delta’s Sign Language Option

Delta recently announced that they will be adding a sign language bar option for 300 + sign languages around the world. Delta is the first airline ever to add this preference for hearing-impaired and deaf travelers. Employees with proper training will be able to recognize customers traveling with sign language as their method of communication. CEO of Delta, Ed Bastian says “our mission is to connect the world, which starts with making travel easier for all people … it’s a small step on our journey, but a powerful change as we seek to make the world a smaller, more inclusive place.” This action came to be from direct feedback from customers, the ABLE Disability Business Resource Group for employees, and the Advisory Board on Disability.
