AirFrance Acquires Its First Airbus A350

For many years, AirFrance has been committed to reducing its environmental footprint. Recently, they have implemented a concrete way to help reduce their footprint by investing in the Airbus A350. This new Airbus is environmentally friendly and will have 25% less Co2 emissions, 25% less fuel consumed, and 40% fewer noise emissions. AirFrance plans to acquire 28 Airbus aircrafts by 2025. On September 27, AirFrance welcomed its first Airbus A350 to the delivery center in Toulouse, France. This plane has 324 seats, 34 Business seats and 24 Premium Economy and 266 in economy class. The inaugural flight is scheduled for October 7 and will eventually expand to 6 destinations by 2020. For Anne Rigail, CEO of Air France, says “the arrival of a new aircraft is always a unique and highly emotional occasion in the life of an airline. Along with all Air France staff, we are extremely proud to welcome the Airbus A350, one of the world’s most efficient long-haul aircraft in terms of environmental, economic and operational performance. As of October 7, our customers will be able to discover optimal comfort and service onboard these new cabins. The arrival of this first A350 marks a new phase in Air France’s fleet modernization strategy. Within 5 years, more than half of the company’s fleet will be made up of new-generation aircraft!”
