PortMiami Train Approved

PortMiami will be getting a new, 15,000 sq. ft. train station that will connect to the terminals at the port, via shuttle service. Currently, Brightline train service connects Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. Orlando is the next station currently being built. The station is under preliminary review and is expected to open in 2020. With this new service, Brightline is in the process of changing its name to Virgin Trains. The train is going to help eliminate travel troubles and get passengers to the terminal swiftly and efficiently. Patrick Goddard, president of Virgin Trains, says, “you start your vacation in West Palm Beach and you basically forget about your bags, and your worries. We will deliver you. We will remove all of the friction of driving through those last 70 miles of South Florida, navigating your way to the port, parking, dropping your bags, all of that.”
