State Department Travel Advisory for Hong Kong

The U.S. State Department has issued a travel warning to a Level 2, for Hong Kong as the civil unrest continues. According to the state department the protests could potentially break out at any time, creating an unsafe environment for visitors and tourists. The airport express, metros and buses have stopped running, as well as the Hong Kong-Macao Ferry Terminal, are temporarily shut down during the extreme protests. If you do happen to be in Hong Kong stay alert to local media reports and avoid the areas where the protests take place. Canada is telling travelers to “exercise a high degree of caution”.
