New Curio Collection by Hilton Opens in NOLA

The Higgins Hotel and Conference Center is a new property by Curio by Hilton that boasts 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space. There are 14 meeting rooms, a few different dining options, a fitness center, a business center, as well as a rooftop bar. The hotel itself has 230 rooms. The hotel opened at The National World War II Museum on its campus in the Warehouse District. The hotel is not only the first Curio Collection property in Louisiana, but will also support the museum’s educational programs and offer accommodations. The renovations estimated $370 million costs also include the Hall of Democracy, which is a 31,000 sq. ft. the building that opened this fall and features a library, classrooms and exhibition space. Stephen J Watson, President, and CEO of the museum says, “we fundamentally believe that a dedicated space to host educational programs for students, teachers, enthusiasts, corporate groups, reunion groups, and the military is a core component of what we should have here at the Museum… when we looked at our last undeveloped piece of land, we wanted to ensure that we created a property that would economically support the Museum’s educational mission, while also enhancing our visitor experience.”
