Omega World Travel Receives High Rankings from Leading Travel
Industry Sources for Success, Fast Growth and Influence
FAIRFAX, VA – August 21, 2012- Omega World Travel, a fast-growing, award-winning leader in the travel management industry, announces today its recent recognition by two international travel industry surveys for its growth and continued footprint across the global travel arena. The company was ranked #15 on Travel Weekly Magazine's Power List 2012 and as the 6th largest travel management company servicing the business travel market by Business Travel News' 2012 Business Travel Survey.
Both recognitions highlight Omega World Travel's continued influence and leadership throughout the global travel industry as demonstrated by annual sales numbers and revenue growth. These recognitions also pay testament to the company's consistent growth through its depth of expertise, technological innovation, and high quality customer service over the past 40 years.
"We are honored to continue to rank so highly as a leader in the travel space, especially alongside such esteemed companies," Omega World Travel's Founder and CEO, Gloria Bohan states. "Over our 40 years in business, we have remained true to our mission to provide our customers with expert service and solutions to effectively manage their full spectrum of travel management needs. We are grateful for these recognitions and look forward to continued growth in the future."
Travel Weekly's annual Power List is compiled largely by companies' gross sales volume figures, received through a questionnaire that is distributed early in the year to a group of potential listees who have either appeared on past lists, been in the news through recent acquisitions or growth, or who have nominated themselves. Additionally, the survey rankings are also based on other aspects of each company's sales numbers, including percentage of sales from business and leisure travel, Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) sales, travel-related subsidiaries, and corporate structure, among others. Invited companies were also provided the option to include any supporting information related to future plans and development. This year's list included 16 companies with annual sales numbers totaling more than $1 billion, including Omega World Travel. This year there were also five more listees than last year's list.
The annual survey conducted by Business Travel News is also based heavily on sales figures reported to ARC, along with the number of ARC and non-ARC air transactions each company processed over the past two years within the business travel market. Omega World Travel's 2011 ARC sales revenues, in excess of $350 million and over 500,000 transactions, earned them a top spot on this year's list of leading travel management companies serving business customers.
