Omega Celebrates a Journey of a Lifetime at Holiday Luncheon
December 12, 2017 – Bohan welcomed Omega’s guests, conveying her gratitude to those in attendance and thanking them for their business. Bohan credits her honeymoon voyage in 1970 to being the inspiration that launched Omega World Travel. She stated that she did not know the cruise would forever change her and lead to a “journey of a lifetime.” At the luncheon, Bohan added, “We are 45 and still counting!” Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), represented by John Pittman, congratulated Bohan for her 45 years in business and gave her a copy of her original ARC Appointment License from 1972, along with a Special Appreciation Award.
To honor the company’s founding story, her staff commissioned a cake modeled after the QE2 from a famous chef in Baltimore. Bohan’s love of cruises eventually led to the opening of Cruise.com, one of the Internet’s largest cruise retailers. Anthony Hamawy, President of Cruise.com, attended the event and surprised guests by giving away a cruise.
Omega World Travel would not be possible without its clients and suppliers. Bohan recognized the hard work and dedication of her employees who have been with the company for many of the 45 years. To honor the company’s top vendors, Delta Air Lines received Vendor of the Year award from Omega and Enterprise Rent-A-Car (Enterprise Holdings) Car Rental received Omega’s Car Vendor of the Year award. Junior Achievement, of which Bohan is a Laureate, was also present. Staff members chaperoned several notable students, who were all given a free trip on Delta and with Extended Stay in recognition of their work in the program.
The resounding theme this year from Omega World Travel and its honored vendors, clients, and guests was to treat everyone with respect, always embrace quality, and know that your success starts with how you treat your employees and clients. The Client Appreciation Luncheon has been a tradition at Omega World Travel, providing the opportunity for Omega to honor its clients, vendors, industry relationships, and its own company.
In closing, Bohan shared her lessons learned through the years:
• Reach out to people – we are a family at Omega World Travel
• Make sure you are honest with people, always have a backup
• Tap into people’s creativity and encourage their entrepreneurial spirit to foster innovation
