Omega World Travel’s 46th Annual Holiday Client Luncheon
December 5, 2018 - Washington, D.C. The Willard Intercontinental Hotel was brimming with holiday cheer and décor, and is the site of Omega’s Annual Holiday Client Luncheon. Omega celebrated its 46th year surrounded by clients, supporters, vendors and friends. This year Omega’s Family of Brands (Omega World Travel, Cruise.com, TravTech and Omega M.I.C.E), has a lot to celebrate. President and CEO, Gloria Bohan, won The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA’s) Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the Business Travel (BTN) Hall of Fame. She was also named Godmother of The MS. Robert Burns from Riviera Cruises. Bohan fell in love with the travel industry during her honeymoon cruise on the QE2 and is also the Godmother of Windstar Cruises’ Star Legend.
Omega’s own Joe Margraf kicked off the holiday luncheon and was the emcee for the duration. Margraf also told everyone to download the special luncheon app, so guests could vote in real-time on Omega’s festive-ness (ranging from a lump of coal - not very festive to Buddy the Elf from the movie Elf - extremely festive.) Buddy the Elf won, and Margraf changed into a festive holiday jacket and thanked his team. It is important to note that in 2018, The Omega Meetings and Events team (M.I.C.E) was named to Meetingsnet 12th Annual CMI 25 list. Furthermore, our technology, with Omegalytics and reporting is more advanced than ever with the launch of our Omega Go App and latest Alexa Skills. Omega’s partnership with Million Women Mentors and STEMConnector blossomed and Bohan signed the Paradigm for Parity movement, which commits Omega to Achieving Gender Parity by 2030. Omega is looking forward to hearing about the success of our mentee, The Leading Niche, who also attended the luncheon.
Bohan founded Omega in 1972 and she credits the continued success of Omega by evolving the business to keep up with the times and by staying ahead of the competition through innovation. She aims to foster the entrepreneurial spirit among staff and through her Foundation, The Dan and Gloria Bohan Foundation. Moving forward, there will be lots of upcoming exciting Alexa skills with our technology. Looking ahead, Omega together with Cruise.com will see a rise in Luxury Travel, Luxury Golf Excursions with help from our Luxury Travel Team.
To round out Omega’s Corporate Responsibility and our mission, Omega will be opening a third Junior Achievement storefront in Prince George's county in 2019. Each student who attended the luncheon won a flight courtesy of Delta Air Lines and so did many of the Junior Achievement employees! The luncheon concluded with Delta Air Lines winning Top Vendor Airline of the Year and Enterprise Holdings winning Top Car Vendor of the year.
