2022 marks Omega’s 50th year as a pioneer in the travel industry. To commemorate this milestone, our 50th Anniversary Celebration was held at the Udvar-Hazy Center at the National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, VA on September 23rd. The event’s speakers highlighted Omega’s journey from its inception in 1972 to becoming a premier global travel management company. Central to Omega’s success is founder and CEO Gloria Bohan’s impressive career trajectory, enduring entrepreneurial vision, and dedication to the education of future business leaders.
As president of the largest woman-owned travel agency in the US, Ms. Bohan emphasized her ongoing commitments to diversity and community. Among the speakers at the event was Dr. Jeffrey Grant, CEO / Head of School Monument Academy Public Charter School, who shared a touching account of Gloria’s support of the Junior Achievement program and the youth it serves. Arnie Weissman, Editor in Chief for Travel Weekly also spoke, noting that Omega is the only Travel Management Company that has not changed names, reorganized, or changed ownership in the past 50 years.
Noting the success of Omega’s sister companies, TravTech and Cruise.com, Gloria further stressed her passion for pursuing technological advances in the industry. The message of the evening was clear: Bohan’s inspirational leadership and enthusiasm for the travel business will forge even more exciting paths in the years to come.
